Thank you for your interest! Vanessa is a licensed speech and language pathologist and member of the American Speech and Language Association. She worked at Texas Childrens Hospital for greater than 8 years and currently, she specializes in autism and other disorders of relating and communicating.
Vanessa has worked closely with other professionals such as occupational and physical therapists and believes that it is critical to understand the whole child, how they process language, how they are regulated and how they move their body in order to build a strong foundation for communication.
Vanessa is one of two speech and language pathologists in Texas who are fully certified by ICDL in the DIR® Model. She is passionate about this model and in her sessions, family members are encouraged to join and be part of the interacton with their children. Moms, dads and special family members are included in the treatment process and planning in order to support each child to become more regulated, engaged, and of course, more communicative!
